Each month I donate a percentage of sales/subscriptions to an organization that is making the world a more hopeful place.

Helping Hands

There are numerous organizations that help families with loss. Read below to learn about some that can help you, and/or some you can help. Let me know if you have any to add.

It wasn't until after the dust settled that I realized just how many amazing organizations played a part in Gigi's time on earth. Help and support is available in many ways!

Helping Hands

When we were in the midst of crisis many people felt helpless.  They wanted to do SOMETHING, but it was hard to know what to do.  We received so much love in the way of gifts, texts, messages, food, money, donations, and countless other ways.  If you are grieving or you know someone who is grieving and you want to do something – here is your list.

You’ll find the name of the organization, what they do to help you, how you can help them and a link to their website.  The entire box is also a link.

Ronald McDonald House Charities

They provide housing for families while their little ones are in the hospital. This was essential for us. We could be close to her and everything was taken care of for us.
You can donate money. You can volunteer. There are numerous ways you can help as a volunteer from cooking and greeting to cleaning and just "being there". Our time at RMH in Chicago as a true blessing.

Beads of Courage

This organization gives beads to children undergoing medical procedures. They earn beautiful beads for every procedure!
You can donate money. You can volunteer to help make beads. You can volunteer to sew the bags that are given to the children to keep their beads. You can become a "Courage Keeper" and donate monthly.

Mended Little Hearts

They provide support for families that have children with Congenital Heart Defects. They support families with children living with CHD and those who have lost children to CHD. They gave us a lovely package while we were in the hospital complete with a Lion and a workbook of helpful information.
You can become a member and there are chapters all over the country. They provide support and education.

Project Linus

"At Project Linus, a non-profit organization, we provide new handemade blankets to children in need. Our blankets are lovingly made by adults and children from all walks of life and many different sources."
You can donate money! Find a local chapter to donate blankets, your time, and/or other needed materials. You can also start a chapter in your area!

Teeny Tears

"Teeny Tears is a service organization that provides tiny flannel diapers, mini blankets, and no-sew stockinette hats at no charge to hospitals, funeral homes, and bereavement support organizations for families that have suffered the loss of a preemie or micropreemie child through stillbirth or NICU loss."
You can donate money. You can donate materials. You can also get the patterns to make items for donation.

Madison's Miracles

"Madison’s Miracles is a non profit 501 (c) 3 organization that provides support and resources to grieving parents who have experienced still birth, pregnancy or infant loss." They are huge advocates for the Cuddle Cot Project as well.
You can donate money.

Bridget's Cradles

"Bridget's Cradles provides hand-made knit and crocheted cradles to hospitals to offer to families whose babies were born into Heaven in the second trimester of pregnancy." They also offer many resources for families.

Mother's Milk Bank

"The Mothers’ Milk Bank of the Western Great Lakes provides pasteurized donor human milk to premature and critically ill babies, supports moms who donate milk after loss, and distributes reduced cost or free donor milk to chronically ill middle and low income children."

March of Dimes

"March of Dimes fights for the health of all moms and babies. We're advocating for policies to protect them. We're working to radically improve the health care they receive. We're pioneering research to find solutions. We're empowering families with the knowledge and tools to have healthier pregnancies. By uniting communities, we're building a brighter future for us all."

The Tears Foundation

"The TEARS Foundation seeks to compassionately lift a financial burden from families who have lost a child by providing funds to assist with the cost of burial or cremation services. We also offer parents comprehensive bereavement care in the form of grief support groups and peer companions."
You can donate money. You can participate on their walk events.

The Colette Louise Tisdahl Foundation

Providing TLC to families: Trust. Love. Compassion One of the great things they do is provide financial support for families.
You can donate money. You can have your corporation invest in their mission.
